Crowding and Social Distancing at Stations:
Social distancing at Transport for Wales station

  • Please arrive at the station in plenty of time to board your train and follow the directional signage which is in place at our stations.
  • Queuing systems will be in place at some stations for social distancing purposes. Signage and station announcements will ensure safe queuing for passengers.
  • We ask passengers to respect others' space by maintaining a two-metre distance, where possible whilst moving around stations and platforms. Carry hand sanitiser and wash their hands regularly.
  • To keep customers socially distanced at all stations, both staffed and unstaffed, there will be signage and markings with clear guidance on display. In some stations barriers will be used to control crowds.

Face coverings

Please wear a face covering

  • We are following the Welsh Government's advice regarding wearing face coverings on public transport. Welsh Government recommends wearing a face covering when you cannot adhere to social distancing, such as being on public transport.
  • Please wear a face covering on our trains and at stations where social distancing guidance may sometimes be difficult to maintain.
  • You must wear a face covering on trains in England.

Maintaining social distancing on-board trains:

Social distancing

Seats

  • Please choose your own socially distanced seat. Social Distancing notices are on-board, and the seats which can be occupied are clearly identified on-board.
  • Seated customers must be 2 metres apart in all directions to maintain social distancing.
  • Avoid facing other passengers

Standing

  • Standing, (other than to board or leave the train), is discouraged.
  • Notices discouraging standing are displayed in areas where customers naturally stand, such as in doorways,  encouraging passengers to maintain social distancing.
