Engineering work is taking place between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly overnight from Tuesday evening until Friday morning, closing all lines.
Tuesday to Thursday evenings:
The 2104 Birmingham International to Manchester Piccadilly will terminate at Chester. A replacement bus will run between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly.
The 23:14 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester service will be diverted to run on an alternative route. A replacement bus will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester.
Wednesday to Friday mornings:
The 00:32 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester service will be replaced by a bus.
The 03:34 Chester to Manchester Airport service will be amended to start at 04:00, will be diverted to run via Crewe and Styal, and will terminate at Manchester Piccadilly.

- The 02:59 Carmarthen to Swansea service now departs at 04:10. A replacement bus will run from Swansea to Carmarthen.

- Replacement road transport from Port Talbot Parkway will stop at intermediate stops to Swansea and Gowerton.

From approximately 23:15, trains will be diverted via the 'City Line' (through Fairwater).

Until 12:30:
Trains towards Swansea / Carmarthen will operate to and from Bridgend, with a replacement bus service operating between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Pontyclun.
Valley lines services will be affected as follows:
- Rhymney / Ystrad Mynach services will run to and from Cardiff Bay.
- Barry Island / Bridgend services will run to and from Ninian Park. A replacement bus services will be running between Cogan and Cardiff Central.
From 12:30:
Valley lines services will run as normal but some may use Platform 8, allowing mainline services to use Platform 6 at Cardiff Central.
The following alterations will be in place:
- Ebbw Vale Town services will be diverted to Newport, with bus connections to / from Cardiff Central at Pye Corner.
- Cardiff Central to Gloucester / Cheltenham Spa services will start / terminate at Newport.
- Trains towards Swansea / Carmarthen will operate to and from Cardiff Central but will be diverted via an alternative route.

Amended late night / early morning service between Chester and Crewe from Monday 15 to Friday 19 April

Engineering work is taking place between between Chester and Crewe from 23:30 on Monday 15, Tuesday 16 and Thursday 18 April, closing some lines.
On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday the following alterations are in place:
21:17 Cardiff Central to Chester service will terminate at Shrewsbury at 23:17. Customers for Chester should travel on the 23:40 Shrewsbury to Chester service. Customers from Crewe and intermediate stops should travel on the 23:27 Shrewsbury to Crewe service.
22:52 Birmingham New Street to Holyhead service will terminate at Crewe at 00:10. Customers for Holyhead Ferry should travel earlier.
23:30 Crewe to Chester service will run earlier at 23:06. A 23:35 replacement bus service will replace this service and provide a connection into an additional 00:40 Chester to Holyhead service.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday the following alterations are in place:
04:22 Chester to Birmingham New Street service will start from Crewe at 04:59. Customers from Chester should travel on the earlier 03:50 road replacement transport.
04:50 Crewe to Milford Haven service will start from Shrewsbury at 05:36. An additional 04:50 Crewe to Shrewsbury trains will connect into this service at Shrewsbury.
Please note that trains running on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning will run as normal, and will not be affected by this engineering work.

Amended services between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Pontyclun / Rhoose on Sunday 17 March

Engineering work is taking place between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Pontyclun, all day and also between Bridgend and Rhoose Cardiff International Airport, until 12:00.
Great Western Railway:
Most trains will be diverted to run on alternative routes, and will be retimed to run up to 30 minutes earlier than usual.
Additionally, the following trains will be replaced by buses between Cardiff Central and Swansea:
- The 07:53 Swansea to London Paddington service.
- The 08:30 London Paddington to Swansea service.
- The 09:24 Swansea to London Paddington service.
- The 10:24 Swansea to London Paddington service.
- The 11:24 Swansea to London Paddington service.
Buses from Swansea will run earlier than the train service they replace in order to maintain connections with train services at Cardiff Central.
Transport for Wales:
Until 12:00, buses will replace trains between Bridgend and Rhoose Cardiff International Airport, calling at Llantwit Major, and also between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Pontyclun.
From 12:00, trains which normally run between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Pontyclun will be diverted to run via the Vale of Glamorgan. Buses will replace trains between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Pontyclun.

Great Western Railway:
Trains between London Paddington and Swansea / Carmarthen will be revised to start / terminate at Cardiff Central.
Replacement road transport will operate fast between Cardiff Central and Swansea, taking approximately 60 minutes.
Transport will also be operating between Cardiff Central and Swansea, calling at Bridgend, Port Talbot and Neath.
The 07:53 Swansea to London Paddington will start from Newport. Road transport will operate from Swansea direct to Cardiff Central, then on to Newport to connect with the train service.

The following changes to the train service will apply:
