We’re transforming your railway at Taff’s Well

We’re continuing to prepare Taff’s Well for its exciting new role as the beating heart of the Metro in South Wales.

Construction of our £100 million Metro Depot and Control Centre continues at pace. The facility will be home to 36 Metro tram-trains and over 400 members of staff.

In early February, the new connection between the depot and mainline was installed, with the first Metro tram-trains arriving at their new home at the end of March.

Behind the depot, our new Integrated Control Centre is being fitted out ahead of opening. Once commissioned, the 52 colleagues based there will control the new modern signalling system across the Core Valley Lines and provide assistance for our customers across the Metro area.

Community drop-ins

We’re grateful to the community for their patience and understanding as we transform transport across the region. To keep you informed about what’s happening, we’re organising regular community drop-ins.

They’ll take place at several venues across Taff’s Well at different times of the day - no appointment is necessary. There’ll be opportunities to find out more about our vital infrastructure works and the impact they’ll have on the area.
