Significant changes to Transport for Wales’ timetables from Sunday 19 May 2019

The following significant changes will take place from the timetable change on 19 May 2019. Other smaller changes which may affect your journey may not be included on this poster. Please check before you set off on your journey. The new timetables are available to view or download here and will be on timetable posters and booklets at stations, valid and on display from 19 May 2019.

There are no significant changes to Timetable 1

 

Timetable 2

  • 2117 Cardiff Central – Chester – will no longer run beyond Chester and terminate at Crewe (Monday to Friday)
  • 2030 Manchester Piccadilly – Cardiff Central – will terminate at Crewe and connect into the 2055 from Chester to Cardiff at Crewe (Monday to Friday)
  • 2055 Chester – Crewe – will be extended through to Cardiff Central calling all stations (Monday to Friday)
  • 2309 Shrewsbury – Cardiff Central –will also call at Pontypool & New Inn. (Monday to Friday)
  • 1502 Carmarthen – Manchester Piccadilly – will also call at Pontypool & New Inn. (Monday to Friday) 19.53 Sunday - Aberdare to Cardiff Central

 

Timetable 3

  • Seasonal variations will apply between 19 May and 8 September and between 9 September and 7 December
  • 0639 Cardiff Central – Pembroke Dock (Monday to Friday) will start from Cardiff Central at 0637 and run earlier to Swansea.

 

Timetable 4

  • An hourly service will operate between Liverpool Lime Street and Chester calling at Liverpool South Parkway High Level, Runcorn, Frodsham, Helsby and Chester. (Monday to Sunday)
  • Two services will operate from Wrexham General to Liverpool Lime Street at 0635 / 1909 (Monday to Friday) 0619 / 1910 (Saturday)
  • A service will operate from Liverpool Lime Street to Wrexham General at 1737 (Monday to Saturday)
  • Seasonal Variations will apply between 19 May and 8 September and between 9 September and 7 December.
  • 2136 Crewe – Holyhead (Monday to Friday) – will depart from Crewe at 2140 and run later to Chester.

 

Timetable 5

  • From 9 September some services from Treherbert are subject to departure one minute earlier from Treherbert through to Ystrad Rhondda. (Monday to Saturday)
  • From 9 September – some services from Cardiff Central to Treherbert will depart Cardiff Central 1 minute and run earlier to Ystrad Rhondda. (Monday to Saturday)
  • Seasonal Variations will apply between 19 May and 8 September and between 9 September and 7 December - leaf-fall

Monday to Friday

  • 0716 Cardiff Central – Aberdare - will depart at 0711 calling all stations to Radyr and Pontypridd, except Trefforest Estate.
  • 0747 Penarth – Bargoed - will run later from Cardiff Central to Bargoed.
  • 1347 Penarth – Bargoed – will start from Cardiff Central at 1401.
  • 0724 Rhymney – Penarth will terminate at Cardiff Central.
  • 0831 Cardiff Central – Penarth – additional service.
  • 0700 Rhymney – Penarth will terminate at Cardiff Central.
  • 0801 Cardiff Central – Penarth – additional service.
  • 1732 Penarth – Cardiff Central – additional service.
  • 2124 Penarth – Cardiff Central – additional service.
  • 0617 Treherbert – Penarth – will not call at Grangetown.
  • 1952 Aberdare – Penarth – will terminate at Cardiff Central.
  • 2106 Cardiff Central – Penarth – additional service.
  • 1717 Penarth – Rhymney – will start from Cardiff Central at 1731.
  • 1732 Penarth – Rhymney – will start from Cardiff Central at 1746.
  • 1817 Penarth – Rhymney – will start from Cardiff Central at 1831.
  • 1406 Cardiff Central – Treherbert – will start from Penarth at 1347.
  • 1736 Cardiff Central – Treherbert – will start from Penarth at 1717.
  • 1836 Cardiff Central – Treherbert – will start from Penarth at 1817.
  • 0652 Aberdare – Barry Island – will not call at Grangetown.
  • 2000 Rhymney – Barry Island – will terminate at Cardiff Central.
  • 2110 Cardiff Central – Barry Island – additional service.

Saturday

  • 0647 Treherbert – Cardiff Central – will run to Penarth calling at all stations.
  • 0717 Treherbert – Cardiff Central – will run to Penarth calling at all stations.
  • 0700 Rhymney – Penarth – will terminate at Cardiff Central.
  • 0724 Rhymney – Penarth – will terminate at Cardiff Central.
  • 2142 Bridgend – Aberdare – will start from Penarth and call at Dingle Road, Grangetown and Cardiff Central before continuing to Aberdare.
  • 2220 Penarth – Rhymney – will start from Cardiff Central at 2235.
  • 2246 Cardiff Central – Treherbert – will start from Bridgend at 2142 and call all stations to Cardiff Central and then continue to Treherbert.

Sunday

  • 1550 Rhymney – Cardiff Central (Sunday) calls all stations to Cardiff Central.
