Overview

Barmouth station is located in the charming seaside resort of Barmouth, with the current building being opened by the Great Western Railway in 1901. Awarded its Grade II listing in 1988, the station was designed by the famous architect W.H. Broome and features a distinctive red-and-white brick construction.

The great 19th-century poet William Wordsworth acknowledged the beautiful scenery that surrounds Barmouth after a visit, commenting on the sea view and ‘glorious estuary’.

Barmouth station is on the Cambrian Coast Line, which runs from Machynlleth to Porthmadog. Our services run between Shrewsbury and Pwllheli, with most trains calling at every station between Machynlleth and Pwllheli.
