Rich in history, but with a vibrant atmosphere, Swansea was at the centre of the copper-smelting industry, giving the city its nickname of Copperopolis. Looking out over the stunning Bay, the glorious Gower Peninsula is well worth a visit while you’re here. However, Swansea itself has more than enough to keep everyone busy

One of Swansea’s most prominent landmarks is Oystermouth Castle. Perfectly situated with views across Swansea Bay, it’s home to secret staircases, ancient graffiti art from the 14th century, and the medieval maze of deep vaults. Built in the 12th century, and originally comprised of a Norman stone castle which fell into decay in the 17th century.

Culture vultures should head for the Grand Theatre or Taliesin Arts Centre. Both have year-round exhibitions and performances, featuring local and internationally recognised talent. From edgy comedy to classic theatre, the Grand Theatre features plush, spacious seats, allowing you to become fully immersed in the performance, while the Arts Centre includes contemporary pieces in a variety of media.

Singleton Park is the largest urban park in Swansea, spanning 250 acres and located near the entrance of Swansea University. The park is home to the glorious botanical gardens, boating lakes offering paddleboat rides, and the ever-popular crazy golf course.
