Considered to be the best seaside resort in Wales, there is no doubt why Llandudno is called the ‘Queen of the Welsh resorts’. From sunny beaches to snowsports, everyone will find something to keep them happy.
Head first for the two-mile stretch of golden sand at North Shore Beach and enjoy a refreshing perspective of Llandudno Bay and the picturesque Victorian pier stretching out over the Conwy Bay. With watersports, including surfing and bodyboarding, there’s plenty to do here. At the other end of the Bay, the West Shore offers kite-surfing to the adventurous.
One not to miss is the Great Orme Tramway, Britain’s only cable-hauled tramway. For over a hundred years, this masterpiece of Victorian engineering has been taking passengers on the impressive route up to the summit of the Great Orme headland - why walk when you can relax and take the tram! Watch out for the wild herds of shaggy Kashmiri goats, kittiwakes and peregrine falcons that call this peak home. Once at the top, the panoramic view is breathtaking.
If shopping is your thing, Llandudno town centre has all the big names you’d expect, but for something a little different, seek out the quirky one-off boutiques. Ideal for gifts, or just to treat yourself, they feature the talents of local craftspeople, such as silversmiths, glass blowers, and artisan potters. Pick up some delicious homemade shortbread for the journey home while you’re there.
For those seeking a spot of culture, the Mostyn Art Gallery is notable for its Edwardian terracotta facade, and houses various collections in its six gallery spaces, from turn of the century exhibits to contemporary art.
There’s so many attractions that Llandudno has to offer, why not invite your friends and family, taking advantage of our group discounts, or our flexible Anytime special offers, and look forward to exploring the delights of Llandudno.
