About the Urdd Eisteddfod

One of Europe’s largest annual touring youth festivals, the Urdd National Eisteddfod, is visiting Cardiff Bay during May half-term.

Over 15,000 children and young people from all parts of Wales and further afield will compete in the Eisteddfod’s 220 competitions held in the main pavilion (Donald Gordon Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre).

While it’s easy to lose track of time watching the competitors in the main pavilion, the site will be full of activities for the whole family, from stalls to sports sessions, live music and much more! Come and enjoy our unique Welsh festival – we’d love to have you!

And this year, for the first time, there will be free entry for everyone to enjoy the Eisteddfod ‘Maes’ (festival site)! Adults will need to purchase daily wristbands to gain entry to all competition venues (including the main stage at the Donald Gordon Theatre).

All competitors and under-18s will enjoy free entry: Adult wristbands: £13 (the price will increase after 30 April)
